Bing Overseas Studies Programs

Every Stanford undergraduate should give serious consideration to studying away

Regardless of the academic path you choose, you will be enriched by your journey in one of our study away programs. Your time with BOSP will equip you with transformative educational experiences—regularly taught by Stanford faculty—that inspire you to embrace new challenges in complex global settings. Roughly half of each graduating class studies away through BOSP during their undergraduate career at Stanford. Participating in a BOSP program will help you develop the skills required to excel in the global workforce, and will add value to your life and the lives of others.

My study away experience in Berlin

Aliana

"As an IR major, learning about history and change fascinates me, especially the Cold War. Living and learning in the city that essentially encapsulates what the Cold War was, was as exciting as it was a challenge. In short, it had everything I was looking for in a program: cultural and historical richness, a great location in Europe, amazing academics, and a bustling city environment.”

Faculty Leader Reflection

“Many of the highlights of my time at Stanford have been part of the Bing Overseas Studies Program, where I have gotten to know small groups of undergraduates extremely well in some amazing areas of the world. I feel that some of the most important teaching moments have been overseas. The experiences we have had around the world have deepened our understanding of how different engineering approaches can address sustainability goals in the context of different cultures.” -Mykel Kochenderfer, Associate Professor of Aeronautics
