STEM Magnet Programming
STEM Magnet Program at S.C. Red Elementary
S.C. Red Elementary is proud to be a dedicated STEM Magnet School, offering a robust Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math program that engages students in hands-on, inquiry-driven learning experiences. As a whole-school magnet, every student at Red participates in our STEM programming, which is designed to spark curiosity, develop problem-solving skills, and prepare students for success in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.
Students attend two specialized labs as part of their STEM enrichment:
STEM Lab
In the STEM Lab, students in Pre-K through 5th grade explore scientific concepts and mathematical thinking through interactive experiments, design challenges, and collaborative investigations. Whether learning about physical forces, earth systems, or engineering structures, students engage in hands-on experiences that deepen their understanding of core academic content while encouraging creativity and critical thinking.
Tech Lab
In the Tech Lab, students build digital literacy and technological fluency through structured lessons in computer skills, coding, and robotics. With access to engaging software and modern equipment, students practice keyboarding, explore basic programming, and learn to problem-solve using technology. Lessons are designed to foster responsible digital citizenship and support readiness for the 21st century.
Our school-wide STEM program promotes academic excellence, encourages higher-order thinking, and provides students with the tools to become confident, capable learners. Through real-world applications and engaging instructional practices, S.C. Red Elementary inspires the next generation of innovators, creators, and leaders.
