Error:

CS1973: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' has no applicable method named 'Partial' but appears to have an extension method by that name. Extension methods cannot be dynamically dispatched. Consider casting the dynamic arguments or calling the extension method without the extension method syntax.

  • You sure this is valid? Seems to be a list (collection), not a member? (Rec)Model.recs Commented Aug 5, 2016 at 15:42
  • Try @Html.Partial("_select_recs", (IEnumerable<Rec>))Model.recs) and same for the other one that's a collection Commented Aug 5, 2016 at 15:43
  • No luck came up with the error: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'Rec' could not be found Commented Aug 5, 2016 at 15:49
  • The error "Extension methods cannot be dynamically dispatched" tends to be caused when it can't figure out the type of the model or the model is purposefully dynamic, so if it can't find the namespace, that might be the issue. Commented Aug 5, 2016 at 16:00
  • Do you have a @model statement in the view? I don't see it here but figured you might have omitted it for brevity Commented Aug 5, 2016 at 16:01

Okay, this is working for me, if I understand what you're after. Note that there is a separate page for binding to the Category.
