About Agentic checkout with Google Pay

Important:

  • This feature is currently only available in the US, in English and for select merchants that accept Google Pay as a payment method.
  • You need to have:
    • A valid payment method saved in your Google Account to use with Google Pay
    • A US address saved for Google Pay

You can use Google Shopping’s price tracking feature to set your desired price for an item. If the item becomes available at or below your desired price, you may have the option to use Agentic checkout to have it purchased on your behalf. You’ll get a notification to authorize the purchase, payment method, and shipping address. Agentic checkout then makes the purchase from the merchant’s website.

How Agentic checkout uses AI

Agentic checkout uses an AI agent to complete these steps:

  1. Visit the merchant’s website where the item is for sale.
  2. Confirm that the price matches the amount you authorized.
  3. Securely purchase the product for you using your selected Google Pay payment method.
  4. Send updates through email and notifications to your device as your order is placed.

Tip: Your payment info is encrypted and kept private as the agent makes the purchase on your behalf.

About price tracking on Google Shopping

When you browse for a product on Google Shopping, you'll see a "Track price" option where you can choose the price you'd like to pay for the item.

You'll get a confirmation that your price tracking is set up, and Google will monitor the price for you. When there's a drop that is at or below your desired price, you’ll receive an email notification, and/or a notification from your Android phone or the Google Search App on iOS. An estimated total cost, with shipping and taxes included, will be shown so you know the full price.

Tips:

  • Price tracking focuses solely on the actual item price. It does not include shipping and taxes.
  • Prices on some merchants’ websites may be dynamic and subject to change over time.

How Agentic checkout works with Price Tracking

  1. If the price drops to the target price of your item, you’ll receive:
    • An email
    • A notification on your Android phone or the Google Search App on iOS if you are logged in
  2. When you tap the notification, you'll be taken to a page where you can find the product and merchant details, your shipping address, and your Google Pay payment method.
    • On this review page, you'll find the original price, the new discounted price, and the price you set as your target. You'll always be asked to review the purchase first.
  3. To let Agentic checkout purchase the item on your behalf, tap Buy for me with GPay.
  4. To check the status of your Agentic checkout purchase, visit wallet.google.com. In addition to the confirmation emails sent by the merchant, you’ll also receive an email confirmation from Google with the status of your Agentic checkout purchase.

Tips:

  • The merchant is solely responsible for setting the item price and fulfilling orders.
  • To track the item order, follow the merchant’s confirmation email.
  • For more information about the item, the merchant’s terms and conditions, privacy policy, or customer support, visit the merchant’s website.

Common questions about Agentic checkout

Is Agentic checkout available for all online stores?

This feature is available at select US merchants that accept Google Pay online. We’re working to expand the number of merchants where Agentic checkout can be used. Eligibility requirements apply and merchant availability can change.

Can I use my loyalty rewards or promo codes with Agentic checkout?

Currently, Agentic checkout doesn't support promo codes or loyalty rewards.

Can I adjust my price tracking targets? How do I manage my items for price tracking?

Track a product’s price

Important:

  • Price tracking is available in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and India. We’re rolling out updates to price tracking. All features may not be available on all devices or Google surfaces.
  • Make sure you're signed in and have notifications turned on.

On Google on your device:

  1. Search for specific keywords, such as:
    • Product: Google Pixel Pro
    • Product category: Cellphones
  2. Scroll to view or open a product card.
  3. Tap Track price .
    • A Track price card opens. If the product has options like size or color, you may select the options you want to track.
    • Optionally, select a target price.
  4. To confirm price tracking, tap OK.
    • You'll get a confirmation that says "You’ll get push notifications and emails on price drops and related content."

Tips:

  • When the price drops below your target price, you'll get a push notification to your phone through the Google app and also receive an email.
  • Prices are dynamic and subject to change.

Turn off price tracking

On your mobile app:

  1. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial and then Saves & Collections and then All saved items.
  2. At the top right, tap Select.
  3. Select the items that you want to remove.
  4. At the top right, tap the trash icon and then Remove.

From a price tracking update email:

  1. Within the email, tap Unsubscribe from this product.
    • It takes you to the product card.
  2. On the product card, tap Unsubscribe.

From a notification on your phone:

  1. Expand the notification.
  2. Tap Turn off.
    • It takes you to the product card.
  3. On the product card, tap Unsubscribe.
Is shipping and tax included in price tracking?

Shipping and tax costs are not part of price tracking and will be added on top of the final price.

Why have I not received a price tracking notification?

You might have turned off your notifications. Learn more how to turn on your Google notifications.

The price of the product may not have dropped or hit your desired threshold.

How can I see my Agentic checkout purchases?

Locate the order details in your notifications. Tap the notification which will take you to view the order status and your transaction details.

Fix issues with Agentic checkout

Agentic checkout doesn’t work

Important:

  • This feature is currently available only in the US, in English, and with select merchants that accept Google Pay as a payment method.
  • Make sure you have:
    • A valid payment method saved in your Google Account to use with Google Pay.
    • A US address saved for Google Pay.

You'll get a notification or email if your purchase is unsuccessful. This happens if:

  • The product goes out of stock or if the price changes significantly between the time you confirm and when Agentic checkout tries to buy it.
  • Your card has expired or the payment was declined.

The price changed after I clicked Buy for me with GPay

If the price goes up, the purchase won't go through, and you won't be charged. Agentic checkout is designed to buy the product if the final price is the same as, or lower than the total price you confirmed.
