I saw something worrying on gthub regarding the status of the package tabularay:

enter image description here

  • Does anyone know how the future will look like for this package?
  • Will there someone who will take over its maintenance?

The author of the package has also left our site a few years ago, see tex.stackexchange.com/users/106776/l-j-r. Commented yesterday

I don't think that the project has been abandoned. I don't know why Jianrui set the GitHub repo to archived, but there has been an update to it only yesterday. Maybe the author wants to work on it or is refactoring things that let to this decision. Commented yesterday

@albert Really? That comes as a surprise! I hope that somebody will take over soon ... Commented yesterday

@cfr I don't know, I've been asking myself the same question... there was a conflict on Meta at some point when the community (among which me) closed a question from Jianrui (tex.meta.stackexchange.com/q/8969), but this doesn't seem directly connected to "the number of reviews". @Marijn to be honest, I'm not sure what 'the number of reviews' even refers to. the number of views of something? number of votes? for what? anyway, whatever that means, leaving this site doesn't seem directly connected to the decision to abandon tabularray, given the difference in timing. it might well be for actual real life reasons, especially given the lack of explanation. I had written to Jianrui as well and got the answer: "Tabularray is unmaintained at present. Maybe there will be a new maintainer."
