New details revealed

According to a report obtained by TMZ, Rivers was found dead in his bathroom. In an emergency 911 call, a woman identified as Keely discovered the American musician lying face down in the bathroom. In her emergency call, she reportedly told dispatchers that she found the musician “in a pool of blood” and began performing CPR while waiting for help to arrive.

The report further states that deputies from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department rushed to the scene and continued to perform CPR until fire rescue officials arrived. He was pronounced dead.

Sam's death under investigation

While the cause of death is still unknown, reports state that Rivers had a visible cut above his eye, possibly caused by a fall in the bathroom. It was also observed that his face and neck had turned dark blue while the rest of his body appeared 'flushed' - a condition commonly seen in pulmonary embolism. A small amount of coagulated blood was also found near the area where he was discovered. An official report is still awaited.
