Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone to reunite for Ayan Mukerji’s next film based on Raj Kapoor, Nargis' old classic 'Chori Chori' - Report

The reunion of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on the big screens has been one of the consistent wishes of their fans. And it seems this will be happening soon. As per the reports, Ayan Mukerji is all set to helm the project, and if the latest development is to be believed, it will be loosely adapted from Raj Kapoor and Nargis' film, 'Chori Chori'.According to the India Today report, Ranbir Kapoor will revisit the film directed by his grandfather and the showman of Hindi cinema, Raj Kapoor. Reportedly, the upcoming project will have a contemporary twist. The report further stated that the new movie will not have the storyline; however, the central premise will remain the same but in a modern setting. Not just that, Ranbir is reportedly gearing up to revive the RK Films banner with this film. It will be his first production under the renewed banner.Ranbir and Deepika will be reuniting after a decade. They were last seen together in Imtiaz Ali's 'Tamasha' (2015). RK and DP's chemistry in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', directed by Ayan Mukerji, is still loved by their fans. A fan posted a video in which she urged producers and filmmakers to bring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone together on screen for a movie. In the video, she expressed that the producers will not have to worry about the collections, since the movie featuring them together will become a massive hit.Well, netizens were quick to notice that Deepika has liked the video.Ranbir Kapoor is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love & War', co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. The film will release in August next year. He also has Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus, 'Ramayana'. On the other hand, Deepika will next feature in Atlee's film starring Allu Arjun in the lead. The film is yet to be titled. She is currently working on Shah Rukh Khan's 'King'.
