F1: sharing links even faster and easier

We just pushed out a new version of the F1 add-on and the F1 service. Existing users should upgrade their add-ons (click on “Find Updates” in the Add-On manager). In this release we:

  • Made it faster. The UI loads and opens faster, and sharing itself is faster.
  • Emails sent by F1 now have both HTML and plaintext parts. In both cases we include the link by default so you have more room to type your message.
  • The share button can be moved to any location in the toolbar
  • Various bug fixes including better support for messages with non-English characters, spell-checking works, and more.

It is very good that you have made new version and the option to move share button anywhere but my button disappeared. It is missing in the customize dialog, too. I tried to disable/enable extension and even to remove/install it but share button is still missing.

I use Firefox 4 Night builds on Windows XP.

While I was using F1, I have realized that my two distinct tweets, one for mozillalabs website and the other for a random wikipedia article, included different shortened urls. Then I found out that you set mzl.la shortening service as default for mozilla domains.

Is there a shortcut for this add-on? It could be useful if we can bind a shortcut to it through preferences dialog. I found myself hitting ctrl+f to reach this add-on many times.

    Thanks.

are you also considering provide statistics to the content creators for the URLs shared through F1 service?
