I have an online, video tutorial version of the material I use in my CSS Layout Workshops. If you want to get up to speed with CSS Layout, take a look

Over 48 hours after not putting my bag on the plane at London are still refusing to assist. Meanwhile I’m scrambling around expensively buying essentials.

So my Tile has told me more than about my lost bag. Thanks to the community I know it made it to Seattle!

I’m connecting through LAX so scuttled over to the international terminal for the Qantas Lounge. Look who just arrived!

They obviously know which bags are on which aircraft. I basically just want to know whether it is still in London or en route to the USA. They refuse to say. American don’t know, as they have never had this bag on their aircraft!

Last I heard were putting my bag on one of their aircraft to SEA. Despite the fact the bag has never been on an American Airlines aircraft on this trip, BA claim it is AA’s issue and won’t tell me if it’s on the BA plane. Baffling.

I’m on flight no.3 with the spoils of my high speed airport scavenger hunt. Socks! A not completely disastrous sweater! Toothpaste. What more could I need?

powered by lack of sleep and a lounge whiskey I'm going to go explore the sartorial delights of JFK Terminal 8.

So it turns out my bag can’t run as fast as me. I’m in JFK heading to SF. My bag is in London. Gonna be wearing an I Love NY hoodie from the airport at the meeting.

Rather sad I didn’t have my running watch on for that race through Heathrow airport! Made the flight though. ✈️

Think I jinxed my own travel. Currently stuck on the tarmac due to earlier fog at LHR. With some very angry passengers, and some others who don't seem to understand how this can be, because it looks nice if they look out the window.

With a day of complex travel involving 3 airplanes I like the quiet confidence of TripIt, "You will make your connection". Not that this has stopped me obsessively tracking all the inbound flights.

I like that people on Foursquare have rated this runway 5.4. What did it do wrong? As a student pilot I could understand a runway rating me 5.4.

It's worth keeping notes of the things you read as research as you go, so you don't forget to credit something you drew on for a piece.

Credit your sources. Directly attribute quotes or ideas in the text, with a link for online publications. If you read other pieces as research but didn't directly quote them, add a list of resources you found useful at the end.

Trying to pack for my trip. Appear to have forgotten how to travel. Am just wandering round the house picking things up and putting them down again. I don't normally really unpack between trips!

I thought I might start tweeting some of these writing/editing tips and thoughts in case they turn out useful for someone. I pretty much say the same things over and over again to authors when editing (and catch myself doing the same things too).

Your intro for a technical article should answer these questions: 1. Who is this for? 2. What do I need before I start? (knowledge, software etc.) 3. What will I learn? Save the long rambling story for your recipe blog.

One of the nice things about being Editor in Chief of is how much I learn from the articles I publish. Such as this intro to Node.js which showed up just as I was trying to really wrap by head round Node.
