    Hi,

I am running my WordPress website on a Linux VM which has two drives – slow persistent drive, and a fast temporary drive. In addition, billable IOPS are only counted against the persistent disk. I would like to configure Jetpack Boost page cache to store files at specific location.

How do I set a custom location for cache?

Boot’s page cache is based on WP Super Cache, and if I recall correctly, it is possible to configure cache location for that plug-in! The simplest workaround I have is to create a symlink pointing “boost-cache” to the folder on the fast partition, though I prefer to do this via config.

    Thank you.

  • Hello there, Sebastian from Jetpack here. I hope you are doing well.

Jetpack Boost does not currently support setting a custom location for the page cache directly through its configuration. Creating a symlink from the boost-cache directory to your desired location on the fast partition is a practical workaround. This method should effectively redirect the cache storage without needing additional configuration.

    Thank you Sebastian.

If I wanted to submit a feature request, is the GitHub repo the best place for that?

    Hi @thetitan,

That’s correct, the best place to add a feature request is indeed the GitHub repo.

When creating your request, please be as detailed as possible about what you’re looking for and your use case. It also helps to search the existing issues to see if someone else has already made a similar request. I didn’t see anything related to the topic of this thread in my own search, but it’s worth double-checking from your end in case I missed something.

Let us know if you have any other questions! 🙂
