• Simpler registration - Declarative block.json vs manual PHP callbacks
• Automatic asset management - WordPress handles enqueuing in all contexts
• Better mobile editor support? See: feat: Editor assets endpoint allows Jetpack Forms block types #44979
• Follows WordPress standards - block.json is the recommended approach
