Our latest analysis evaluates the real-world impact of Apple's transition to in-house Wi-Fi silicon with the N1 in the iPhone 17 series. Speedtest data reveals that the iPhone 17 series delivers a definitive performance uplift, with global median speeds up to 40% higher than its Broadcom-based predecessor. The biggest gains are at the 10th percentile, indicating the N1 provides a more consistent experience in the toughest Wi-Fi conditions. While the N1 lacks the 320 MHz channel support found in some Android rivals, our analysis suggests this decision has not hindered early real-world performance given the current nascent state of the 320 MHz CPE ecosystem. The competitive landscape remains fierce, with Google's Pixel 10 Pro edging out the iPhone for the highest global median download speed and Xiaomi's 15T Pro dominating upload and latency metrics. https://lnkd.in/exbuEBQk
