About us
Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park (NYC) to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers. In 2004, a permanent kiosk opened in the park: Shake Shack was born. This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. An instant neighborhood fixture, we welcomed people from all over the city, country and world who gathered together to enjoy fresh, simple, high-quality versions of the classics. The rest, as they say, is burger history. And since day one, it would not have been possible without our stellar team! Our 2025 Holiday Shakes are here! This year, we're excited to introduce the Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake (complete with a crackable white chocolate shell) and the Sticky Toffee Pudding Shake along with our fan-favorite Christmas Cookie Shake to round out the trio. A holiday shake served in the year's specially designed holiday cups is our favorite way to kick off the season here at Shake Shack.

It was an honor to be the official burger sponsor of the New York City Marathon for the second year! As a company born in NYC, it's a blast cheering on the runners and serving them free ShackBurgers in our hometown. One of our favorite parts? Cheering on the four Shake Shack team members who took on the 26.2 mile race. Congratulations to them and all of the runners—we can't wait 'til next year.
