NEW: Myanmar's military government has made a big deal out of raids on the KK Park scam compound, where thousands of people are forced to scam people around the world. Since October, the junta has been claiming it has destroyed buildings in KK Park and has also published videos of it literally steamrolling thousands of phones and computers that may have been used in scamming operations. However, new satellite images from mid-November show buildings have only been destroyed in a limited area of KK Park, hundreds of buildings are so-far untouched. Experts question how serious the disruption efforts are. “The junta is making it sound as though they’re taking down the entire compound, and the imagery that we have seen so far is only limited to one section,” says Eric Heintz, a global analyst at the International Justice Mission, an anti-slavery organization. “It’s important to keep monitoring this to verify what they’re actually doing and [see] if this is just for show or if they’re actually cracking down on the real problem.” Full story here: https://lnkd.in/eHs9xNKJ Satellite images via Vantor.
