Thank you Tom Raftery for the opportunity for this important conversation with Kevin Vranes from Worldly. The risks are real and immediate, as you say, and supply chain professionals across the globe should be making plans for how to monitor and address them. #ResilientSupplyChain #Worldly #Sustainability
Technology and Sustainability Leader | Top 50 Global Thought Leader | International Keynote Speaker @ Tom Raftery | Podcast host | Energy, Supply Chain, Climate, Marketing
The biggest climate risk to your supply chain isn’t a typhoon, a missed shipment, or even geopolitics. Increasingly, it’s workers who simply can’t work. This week’s #ResilientSupplyChain episode dives straight into a risk most leaders still underestimate: heat stress and the disruption it creates deep inside global manufacturing networks. Not theoretical. Not distant. Already here, and intensifying. I sat down with Kevin Vranes, Chief Product Officer at Worldly, to talk about what happens when climate exposure, labour fragility, and mandatory disclosure collide. And why the next era of supply chain resilience will be built on primary data, not polished dashboards. Kevin shared a moment that stuck with me: factories in parts of Southeast Asia already experiencing temperatures so high that labour “presenteeism” collapses. Not because people won’t work, but because they physically can’t. And that hits everything: output, lead times, brand reputation, and the credibility of your climate commitments. We also got into how AI agents are rewiring sustainability intelligence, taking weeks of spreadsheet work and compressing it into seconds. Powerful, yes. But only if leaders are willing to look past the surface and confront what the data is really saying. There’s a lot in this conversation - climate modelling, disclosure rules, NGO scrutiny, risk prediction, supplier engagement, but it all circles back to one question: If parts of your supply chain become too hot to operate, what’s your plan B? Or maybe the harder question… should we already be talking about plan C? 🎧 I’ll add the link to the full episode in the comments. #supplychainresilience, #sustainabilityintelligence, #climaterisk, #suppliertransparency, #scope3emissions

Worldly is excited to support Apparel Impact Institute as it launches a new energy and carbon performance benchmark process for apparel manufacturing. While the apparel industry is already making great progress toward its decarbonization goals, the absence of standardized and verified facility-level data is a roadblock to achieving the most impact. Using deep facility-level data from the Worldly platform, Aii has created new benchmarks that will complement existing tools by helping to standardize expectations, guide investment, and drive facility-level improvement where it matters most. This next phase depends on industry participation: ✅ Facilities to pilot the benchmark and share qualitative feedback ✅ Brands to nominate pilot facilities ✅ Stakeholders to review and comment on the benchmark methodology Does this sound like you or someone you know? Learn more and get involved at https://lnkd.in/gpdWfQMP Only by working together can we ensure this new tool reflects the realities of our industry and drives unified, achievable climate action. #Collaboration #ClimateAction #Decarbonization #SustainableProduction

"Getting together is so powerful because if we've already predetermined that we can't do anything about the problem, then the natural thing to do is to do nothing. But the fact that we are doing something about it and getting together means everyone is hopeful."
