Faye Iosotaluno’s Post

After almost 8 unforgettable years at Match Group and Tinder, I’ve made the incredibly hard decision to step down as Tinder’s CEO in July. It’s difficult to put into words what this journey has meant to me. From driving growth and strategy across the portfolio through expansion, acquisitions, and new partnerships, to mentoring incredible talent along the way, I’ve had the privilege of helping shape how tens of millions of people around the world find meaningful connection. As CEO of Tinder, I’ve been especially proud to build and work alongside an exceptional team, including leaders who’ve pushed each other to raise the bar, build with purpose, and unlock new value for our users. Together, we’ve redefined what the Tinder brand stands for through award-winning marketing work, brought forward product innovation that breaks from old paradigms through friend-forward features, doubled down on personalization by further integrating AI into recommendations, shown the potential for native AI-driven consumer experiences, and laid the foundation for the company’s next chapter. What’s next for me is deeply personal. The consumer tech landscape is evolving in exciting, unpredictable ways – and so are my own ambitions. My daughters are growing up fast and I think often about the technology I want them to experience and the world I want them to inherit: one where they see themselves reflected in leadership, innovation, and opportunity. Building upon the headway and lessons I've learned at Tinder where diverse voices around the table make better and more impactful decisions, I’m drawn to replicating that progress by supporting and building alongside the next generation of women leaders, founders, and investors. With AI now expanding what’s possible, there’s never been a more powerful moment for new voices to create and lead. That work will be a meaningful part of my next chapter, along with exploring where I can drive impact across this changing landscape. To my colleagues: a heartfelt thank you. I leave with profound gratitude for the work we’ve done, the values we’ve lived, and the impact still to come. Tinder is in great hands with Spencer and the leadership team. I’m excited to see you keep pushing boundaries, redefining what’s possible, and building a future that reflects the full potential of this brand…and the people behind it.

The quality of tinder and indeed all the dating apps has gone from bad to worse to unbearable in these last few years. At a macro level, the awful implementation and worsening of algorithms has made humanity and society worse. What was, and could’ve continued to be, an important way for people to connect has turned to rot and enshittified - as most tech has. Even your farewell post says very little about the impacts of your company on society and mostly about your own fulfillment and growth and mentorship. So it tracks. I don’t know whether your successor will continue or reverse this trend but one thing is clear: you and Whitney Herd have both left a trail of wreck and ruin in your wake.

Feedback from a user that has been on countless dates thanks to THE COMPETITION, notably Hinge (although I'm not plugging them, I did once find it worth paying for the premium service) I have to say you are making the correct decision here. Tinder was overrun with bots and sex workers to the point where matching with an attractive woman looking to go on dates every night for free dinner or worse asking for a gift card to cover the cost of her Uber to the date actually felt like a WIN on Tinder 😂. I never did end up meeting anyone IRL from tinder despite having made many connections on other apps, websites, and even social forums. Tinder basically pioneered the swipe right and then failed to do anything meaningful with their first-mover advantage.

It was a privilege to witness your leadership and to partner with you these past few years. Thank you for everything. I'm beyond excited to see what you do next :)

Genuine question, have you used it yourself during this whole period? I believe that someone who sells drugs doesn't take them 🙂 One thing is sure, you have contributed to the ongoing ruining of the dating market, as well as men-women relationships/interactions!

Crying 🥺. Faye, THANK YOU for all of your contributions to this team. You are an incredibly strong, inspiring, and empathetic leader. You’ve led this company through so many challenges, tough decisions, and exciting innovations with dedication, presence, and grit…. and your commitment to supporting women has been exceptional. You will be so very missed ❤️

Those of us who worked closely with you were so lucky to be a part of your orbit. To see how you could understand the most complicated, nuanced product feature... how you could approach cultural dynamics in a country like Japan...how you could come up with approaches to making dating safer... how you could understand new legal regulations...I wish your brain power was contagious! You made folks feel supported and challenged and informed. Thank you for the most incredible journey, your leadership, your courage, your passion, your empathy SO many communities, your incredible impact at Tinder and Match Group. And cannot WAIT to see what you do you next. They're lucky to have you.

I’m sorry to see you go, you were one of the greatest leaders Tinder had in my time there. Wishing you luck in your next adventure!

From launching Matchmaker to The Game Game, we had some real fun! Grateful to have shared this chapter with you, and even more grateful for your leadership. You were a big part of why this became my second tour of duty at Tinder and it’s been a privilege to build, learn, and imagine what’s possible alongside you. Cheering you on always, Faye. 💛
