When I can, I always try to time my flights for sunrise or sunset. The astounding beauty of nature never fails to amaze. The default nowadays is shades down; everyone is watching something, but sometimes it’s hard to match what you see out the window. And realize that only a small portion of humanity has ever been able to see these vistas from such an elevation.

Seeing the view from a plane window is the closest thing we have to walking into the Narnia wardrobe. It’s always profoundly interesting, magical even.

I took my first flight when I was 20 something, when the company I worked with called us for a meeting at the HQ. Flights were still unaffordable at that time for a lot of Indians. I remember I was so excited, I got my friend and I to check in to the airport some 5 hours before the flight. The view ( although past sunset ) , was beautiful! Prior to that I would get dreams that I am boarding a flight, and then would wake up before it took off 😀
