The Scena Awards turn 10!

Join us for the 10th Annual Scena Awards! Since 2015, these awards have recognized excellence in running and volunteering in the Bay Area trail running community. Each year, we give 3 awards:

• The Christine Chapon Award, to recognize a rising star. We refer to this award as The Frenchie
• The Stan Jensen Award, to recognize a long history of running and service. We refer to this award as The Legend
• The Carol LaPlant Award, to recognize runners who have created a legacy in running here and how who were part of the birth of Bay Area ultrarunning. We refer to this award as The GOAT

In 2026, it’s our great pleasure to recognize currrent or future legends in the sport:

• The Frenchie: Tivshun Subaatar and Zagdaa Baatar for their efforts with The Nomadic Adventure Club to build community for Mongolian runners while also supporting everyone else they can find
• The Legend: Jean Pommier for his incredible running career, his blogging about the sport, and his relentless and largely thankless work as the director of the P-USAT MUT 
• The GOAT: Charles Savage for his simply amazing running career, which includes running the first Skyline 50k and continues to this day.
