Problem appears to either be with my JDBC driver or Filemaker, not the bridge. I tested with a Java DB test app Filemaker gives out. Thanks for all your help. Try the same algorithm directly on Java code, maybe the delay could be on
the SQL queries.

Thanks, I actually did have the JVM loaded. Through debugging, I realized it was my JDBC connection that was slow. I started a new thread for it. Is there any reason why the following code would take 13 seconds to load?
I'm using the java.so extension.
Code:
<?php
include_once('java/Java.inc');
$class = Java("java.lang.Class");
$sequelink =
$class->forName("com.ddtek.jdbc.sequelink.SequeLinkDriver")->newInstance();
$dm = Java("java.sql.DriverManager");
$con =
$dm->getConnection("jdbc:sequelink://FMServer:2399;serverDataSource=Clients",
$username, $password);
$stmt = $con->createStatement();
$results = $stmt->executeQuery($query);
$metaData = $results->getMetaData();
$numCols = $metaData->getColumnCount();
?>

Hi,
I am sorry, I could not reproduce this problem. The following script prints
{country=Columbia}
<?php require_once("http://localhost:8080/JavaBridge/java/Java.inc");
$map = new Java('java.util.HashMap');
$map->put('country', 'Columbia');
printMapFromPHP($map);
// Receive the variable by reference
function printMapFromPHP(&$map){
echo $map;
}
?>
Regards,
Jost Boekemeier

Hi, > my question is this: Why do I have to include the Java.inc? Please see http://php-java-bridge.sourceforge.net/doc/faq.php section "Do I have to require Java.inc in each of my scripts? Isn't that very slow?" Regards, Jost Boekemeier __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sie sind Spam leid? Yahoo!
