Hi,

you should be able to back-port the PHP 5 example to PHP 4.

Just remove all try/catch statements and replace the java_x_y_z::type() with java("x.y.z") and new java_x_y_z() with new java(...) calls.

Type casts etc. aren't available in PHP 4 either, so you'll need to use java_values($javaObject) to convert a Java object into a PHP value.

Hi,

CrystalReports X and above have a Java API, and you should be able to invoke reports through that API.

However, the PHP/Java Bridge has been developed 5 years ago for a pure Java reporting engine; search for "i-net CrystalClear" on the internet.

thanks for your quick reply.

I already downloaded and compiled php-java-bridge-4.3.2 from its tar ball 
under FC5 linux. I'm using libgjc library, not Sun JVM.

So in principle I should be able to run itext4php via 
php-java-bridge-4.3.2, shouldn't I?
If so, does anybody know a sample code for PHP4 which makes use of 
itext4php?
I installed itext4php version 1.2.0-1 (from rpm).

 Dear,
 
 I 've been suceessfuly combined PHP+APACHE+IREPORT as I refer to  sample 
 from http://charly-clairmont.developpez.com/tutoriels/php-jasper-reports/  
 which only can produce report in PDF file. I just want to know, is it 
 possible the result report to view in viewer report  as in Crystal  Report?, 
 may someone help me to solve this problem?
