Hi,
I'm having trouble with using mysql_connect within my php application under JavaBridge. The version I'm using is 4.3.2. This is a tomcat (5.5.20) deployment (using the provided war file).
The error I get is: Call to undefined function mysql_connect()
I've not done anything to this JavaBridge.war deployment, it is out of the box with regard to ini files.
Is there something I need to add?
Thanks much,
-Steve

Hi, PHP/Java Bridge 4.3.3 is available for download: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/php-java-bridge/php-java-bridge_4.3.3_j2ee.zip?use_mirror=osdn This version contains only bug fixes: * The asynchronous protocol can now be used everywhere. Please see examples/bench/bench.php for details. * The Apache/IIS front end and the tomcat back end can be restarted independently. Tomcat doesn't keep references to old classes when the context is reloaded. * When gcj is used, dynamic proxies are created by the default classloader. This is necessary because gcj doesn't have a class GC. * The JSR223 script engines now wait for the SimpleContextFactory to finish. In previous versions the script engines were recycled at the end of the PHP script, not at the end of the PHP to Java communication. Furthermore this version can be installed as a Zend extension (zend_extension=...). It contains an opcode optimizer, which is currently switched off. Since PHP 4 support will vanish at the end of the year, I have removed the old C based extension from the source download archive. Please use the CVS or the old 4.3.2 version if you still use PHP 4. Hi,
>From looking at the source code I've got the impression that the C code doesn't compile anyway.
the C code does compile on Linux (Debian and RedHat, at least).
It may not compile or run on Windows. But that's a minor problem as you can always use the pure
Java/PHP implementation, which is as fast as (and under some circumstances even faster than) the C
code.

Hi,
> Can PHP-Java-Bridge be installed in Linux(x86_64)?
The pure Java/PHP implementation runs on all operating systems. -- The bridge may need JDK 1.6 to
compile, but it runs on all Java implementations since 1.4.
> different static libraries but only one dynamic library for -m32 and -
That's an old autoconf test which checks if JNI is available. If not, the bridge uses
local TCP sockets or named pipes.

Jost Boekemeier
