Oops. The bridge is pure Java, so it cannot crash the
JVM. Are you sure that tomcat crashes (do you get a
core dump?) or are there some security restrictions or
memory limits which could terminate the JVM at some
point? Do you see an error log from the Java VM? Do
you have Security Enhanced Linux or a kernel with the
grsecurity patches? Are there any kernel messages?

Strange, what is words2.dict?

Hi,

I would suggest running all of the build statements separately so you  
can better dubug your build.  Here are my build steps from Mac OS X  
10.4.8:

1) www:/www/php-java-bridge-3.1.8 jkoerber$ /usr/local/php5/bin/ 
phpize (must run phpize from your active php5 directory)
2) Set up the env variable to tell the build where Java is on the  
Mac: www:/www/php-java-bridge-3.1.8 jkoerber$export JAVA_HOME=/System/ 
Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Home
3) www:/www/php-java-bridge-3.1.8 jkoerber$ ./configure --with-java= 
$JAVA_HOME
4) www:/www/php-java-bridge-3.1.8 jkoerber$ make
5) www:/www/php-java-bridge-3.1.8 jkoerber$ sudo sh install.sh  
(instead of make install)

This seems to work well for me on Mac OSX Tiger client and on Server.

it's a bug in the C implementation of the bridge --
the number of arguments have changed, so that the C
user CB "call_function_with_exception_handler" (or so)
dies.

Please use the pure PHP implementation instead; change

dl('java.so') to

  require_once("java/Java.php");


We will fix the C implementation for version 3.2.1.

I configued java bridge when i use php5.13 and i can find it from phpinfo.

But now i use php5.2 and i can't find it.

I think Java Bridge is extension module , isn't it?
