Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while automating time-consuming administration tasks such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching and backups. It frees you to focus on your applications so you can give them the fast performance, high availability, security and compatibility they need. Amazon RDS is available on several database instance types - optimized for memory, performance or I/O - and provides you with six familiar database engines to choose from, including Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, and SQL Server. You can use the AWS Database Migration Service to easily migrate or replicate your existing databases to Amazon RDS.

Oracle Autonomous Database eliminates the complexity of operating and securing Oracle Database while giving customers the highest levels of performance, scalability, and availability. Oracle Database can be deployed on-premises when customers have data residency and network latency concerns. Customers with applications that are dependent on specific Oracle database versions have complete control over the versions they run and when those versions change.

HeatWave is 6.5X faster than Amazon Redshift at half the cost, 7X faster than Snowflake at one-fifth the cost, and 1400X faster than Amazon Aurora at half the cost. MySQL Database Service with HeatWave is the only service that enables customers to run OLTP and OLAP workloads directly from their MySQL database. The new MySQL Autopilot uses advanced machine-learning techniques to automate HeatWave, which make it easier to use and further improves performance and scalability.
