2024 Impact Report
2024 smashed records
11,000 girlsdeveloped 3,200 AI & tech solutions with the support of 6,000 volunteers —setting new records across the organization.
In 2024, we continued working towards our bold goal of reaching 25 million girls and women by 2035; celebrated a year of The AI Forward Alliance; hosted powerful events to discuss AI, the workforce, and upskilling; gathered with phenomenal program Ambassadors leading the charge in their communities; and connected Alumnae to more learning and leadership opportunities than ever before.
None of this would have been possible without our global network of supporters, volunteers, and funders who enthusiastically join us in our mission to empower girls everywhere—thank you for being part of this.

2024 provided several opportunities for Technovation communities around the world to gather together in-person, with our biggest highlights being the Regional Pitch Events, and World Summit, as well as Regional Retreats for Ambassadors.
2024 Regional Retreats for program Ambassadors
Ambassadors are powerhouse volunteers who run Technovation programs locally in their communities. In 2024 we invested in two in-person retreats to gather Ambassadors together to connect and learn. Over each 2-day retreat, Ambassadors shared their experiences, asked hard questions, and explored hands-on demos of Technovation curriculum.
Latin America Retreat
9 AMBASSADORS from 6 COUNTRIES gathered together in Bogotá for 2 DAYS of learning and collaboration.
“I feel that we built more trust among ambassadors, shared various ideas that will help us with the development of our regional programs, and filled ourselves with energy and enthusiasm. ”
– Ambassador from México
United States Retreat
14 AMBASSADORS from 10 STATES gathered together in Pittsburgh for 2 DAYS of learning and collaboration.
” I am ready to dig in and start early with a MUCH better idea of how to do so. ”

Girls Sharpen their Skills
Technovation Girls equips participants with a range of skills, both technical and professional.
Technovation Girls builds girls’ confidence in their technical abilities, including their coding skills, AI development, and how to apply technology for social good. Through the business-building portion of the program, it also increases girls’ entrepreneurial abilities and their critical thinking skills. And because the program is team-based, girls also develop skills like persuasion, communication, and teamwork, which are applicable to their future, regardless of their chosen career field.
70% of students reported greater self-confidence and self-efficacy
87% of Technovation Alumnae 18+ plan to or are studying STEM degrees
Reaching girls in Underserved Communities
Technovation remains committed to empowering girls from underserved communities—those same communities that are most affected by global challenges like poverty and climate change…and often widely excluded from developing solutions to those problems.
Technovation is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where girls from every background receive the tools, support, and opportunities to thrive in STEM and beyond. We envision a future where no one is excluded or left behind in a fast-evolving technological world.
Because global definitions of “underserved” are so varied, Technovation tracks participation from girls in underserved communities using several metrics.
- 59% of participants are from low or middle income* countries
- 58% of participants attend schools that do not teach coding
- 19% of participants do not have regular or reliable access to the internet
- 86% of participants in the US and Canada identified as a race/ethnicity other than Caucasian

Volunteers: Powering our Impact
Volunteers are crucial to the success of Technovation Girls. Volunteers share their time and expertise with girls and create a learning environment that gives girls the opportunity to grow as leaders and build their sense of belonging in STEM.
Volunteers fulfill a range of roles across the program. This year we were proud to work alongside more than 6,000 volunteers doing all sort of incredible work:
- 4,000 Mentors supported teams
- 2,300 Judges gave feedback to teams
