Revert "Revert "Fix changes for MOBILITY-1735""
This reverts commit 03b91b5b949eccfe564e33995b12bc3110876504.
The reason for the original revert so was that we could
have a revert cherry picked into 1.1.1, now that has
already happened we can put this back in.
