I have a document library with a 2010 approval workflow attached to it. A user created an item with a URL length exceeding 260. This is working fine in SharePoint 2019. But when the approval workflow is started no tasks are created. I see in the ULS that the task isn't created because the URL field "WorkflowLink" in de approval task list is limited to 255 characters.

Is there a way I can override this? I can't increase the limit of the column. Its sealed.
