Im trying to create a css menu which is responsive. I wanna make a dropdown list menu on resizing but I can't seem to figure out how. So far I've got this http://codepen.io/anon/pen/vmxua

Here's my CSS:

nav {
margin: 0 auto;
text-align: center;
background: #fff;
height:70px;
}

nav ul {
list-style: none;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
display: inline-block;
vertical-align: top;
background: rgba(148,148,149,1);
background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, rgba(148,148,149,1) 0%, rgba(192,192,192,1) 36%, rgba(192,192,192,1) 100%);
background: -webkit-gradient(left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%, rgba(148,148,149,1)), color-stop(36%, rgba(192,192,192,1)), color-stop(100%, rgba(192,192,192,1)));

Do something like below url by using css3 media queries.

HTML:

 <nav>
<ul>
    <li class="active"><a href="#">Item 1</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Item 2</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Item 3</a> </li>
    <li><a href="#">Item 4</a></li>
     <li><a href="#">Item 5</a> </li>
   </ul>

</nav>
<select>
  <option value="#">Item 1</option>
  <option value="#">Item 2</option>
  <option value="#">Item 3</option>
  <option value="#">Item 4</option>
  <option value="#">Item 5</option>
</select>

CSS:

select{
  display:none;
}
@media (max-width: 480px) {
  select {
    display: block;
    width:200px;
    margin:0 auto;
  }
  nav{
    display:none;
  }
}
