Need to install angular 2 but instead angular 4 is installed

Question

I am trying to get angular 2 project up and running using the angular-cli. I think angular 4 is installed instead of angular 2 after seeing my Package.json. Could some body tell me the right way of doing it.

I had used the following command to install angular

npm install -g @angular/cli
ng new projectname

You can check the package.json of stackoverflow.com/documentation/angular2/789/… but i suggest you to go with angular4 — eko

Edit your package.json to:

"dependencies": {
    "@angular/common": "2.0.0",
    "@angular/compiler": "2.0.0",
    "@angular/core": "2.0.0",
    "@angular/forms": "2.0.0",
    "@angular/http": "2.0.0",

Then remove node_modules folder rm -rf node_modules and run npm i again
