Trying post data from js to spring boot controller

Question

I'm trying to post my data from this js

$.ajax({
        type: 'POST',
        url: '/url',
        data: {
            arr: tdValues
        },
        success: function () {
            location.reload();
        }
    });

all code in controller works fine and data from js is not null

 @PostMapping("/url")
 public ModelAndView deleteQuestions(@RequestParam(value = "arr[]") String[] tdValues) {
 ModelAndView modelAndView = new ModelAndView();
 modelAndView.setViewName("page");
 return modelAndView;
}

but after that i get exception like

Required String[] parameter 'arr[]' is not present

Are any suggestions how to fix it?

@pvpkiran tdValues is array, so if i change it to your variant my controller does not get any parameters — Ivan

My problem solved with this way:

public @ResponseBody ModelAndView deleteQuestions(@RequestParam("arr") Optional<String[]> tdValues) {}

and with this JS:

$.ajax({
        type: 'POST',
        url: '/url?arr='+tdValues,
        error : function() {
            console.log("error");
        },
        success: function () {
            location.reload()
        }
    });

Add the required attribute (set to false) to @RequestParam.

public ModelAndView deleteQuestions(@RequestParam(required=false, value = "arr[]") String[] tdValues) {

Or try

public ModelAndView deleteQuestions(@RequestParam(value = "arr") String[] tdValues) {

with property required = false my requestparam is always null The way with both is not working too :D and (@RequestParam(value = "arr", required = false) got the same result(

Couple of changes.

In your Js code.

$.ajax({
    type: 'POST',
    url: '/url/?arr='+tdValues
    success: function () {
        location.reload();
    }
});

In your controller code, do this.

public ModelAndView deleteQuestions(@RequestParam(value = "arr") String[] tdValues) {

Thx, but result the same. Controller still do everything, tdValues is not null, but i remarked that this exception catched immediately when i come into the controller method

added stack trace. In debugger I catch exception after return and all before works fine. Page is redirect to error page after 3rd line into my controller when I check if(tdValues!=null). So problem is still actual
