I have been working on a add-in that provides a color palette that users can use to pick custom shades of a particular color. Although, on the browser and on MacOS the eyedropper can hover over the add-in taskpane content (see attachments), on Windows it disappears.

Is there any work-around to allow the eyedropper to pick a color from a taskpane add-in?

  • Hi @Rick , I would say WebView2. It is a company laptop using the latest version of office 365. The laptop runs still Windows 8, but on the latest update Commented Apr 29 at 21:08
  • @mkrieger1 I could not find a way to keep the eyedropper enabled and take the screenshot. Although, the screenshots don't have the best resolution, I think they serve their purpose. They show that on the browser (1) and macOS (2) the eyedropper works fine on the taskpane content. Commented Apr 29 at 21:12

  • In the task pane, open the personality menu. Select Security Info. In the Security Info dialog on Windows, the Runtime reports Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Legacy, or Internet Explorer. Which does your say? Commented Apr 30 at 22:25
