When importing FBX models created by other software, I noticed an issue where the names of objects were truncated. After testing, I confirmed that the maximum length of object names in Blender is 63 characters. I would like to know if anyone has some understanding of Blender's source code? Could you please tell me which part of the code limits the length of object names? PS: There is too much source code, and I cannot locate the specific issue in a short time.

1$\begingroup$ I don't know which part, but I read there may be plans to improve this for Blender 5.0 $\endgroup$Duarte Farrajota Ramos– Duarte Farrajota Ramos ♦2025-07-28 10:09:53 +00:00Commented Jul 28 at 10:09

$\begingroup$ @DuarteFarrajotaRamos ...Thank you for your answer. The latest version of Blender is 4.6. Do we have to wait for four more versions for this change? $\endgroup$MA__AM– MA__AM2025-07-29 07:54:45 +00:00Commented Jul 29 at 7:54
