I have found something at Changing the admin password on Apashe official website. I downloaded the "Apache Directory Studio" app.

But I can't find my HostName and port fields to connect the apache on this window

Do you know where to find it?

BTW I tried to use connexion name : myLocalHost hostname : localhost port : 80 it resulted in an error message.

ERR_04110_CANNOT_CONNECT_TO_SERVER Cannot connect to the server: Connection refused: getsockopt**

  • (1) Please confirm whether your goal is to (a) change the phpMyAdmin / MySQL root password, or (b) encrypt an Apache directory? (Accessing locahost/xxxxx/demo.html will prompt you to enter your username and password.) (2) Apache Directory Studio is used to manage LDAP (similar to Windows AD), not to manage XAMPP accounts and passwords. Commented Oct 12 at 7:52
  • First, let's define the terms. XAMPP is a combined installation of Apache, MariaDB, PHP, and Perl. The Apache here refers to the Apache Web HTTP Server. The Apache Web HTTP Server is not the Apache Directory. Therefore, it has nothing to do with the Apache Directory or Apache Directory Studio. Commented Oct 12 at 14:57
  • Not sure what additional software you're downloading here, but xampp should come with all the necessary tools to reset the database root password already. nick.af/articles/change-mysql-password-from-command-line Commented Oct 13 at 10:02
