Null point Exception error in MapBlocks Android

Question

I am trying to follow This tutorial and I am getting an error This is the stack trace

This the mapview part of activity_main.xml

        mapbox:mapbox_cameraTargetLng="-122.4443"

        mapbox:mapbox_cameraZoom="12"
        />

and this is complete MainActivity.Java ( Removed all the imports + few more functions of map box)

        Mapbox.getInstance(this, getString(R.string.access_token) );

        setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
    }

    @Override
    protected void onStart() {
        super.onStart();
        mapView.onStart();
    }

    @Override
    protected void onResume() {
        super.onResume();
        mapView.onResume();
    }

    @Override
    protected void onDestroy() {
        super.onDestroy();
        mapView.onDestroy();
    }
}

I tried the following links but they didn't work link 1 link 2 link 4

That YouTube video you're following is a bit old. Setting up a simple MapView is now done differently. For example, you can't set a map style URL via XML anymore.

https://docs.mapbox.com/android/maps/examples/create-a-simple-map-view shows the basic way to set up a Mapbox map.
