react-native run-android crashed with below error, things were working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • im assuming your trying to add fonts? how about try deleting nodemodules and npm install and cd ios and pod install Commented Jul 1, 2021 at 6:29

Troubleshooting

The icons show up as a crossed out box on Android

  1. Make sure you've copied the font to android/app/src/main/assets/fonts.
  2. Delete the build folder with rm -rf android/app/build.
  3. Recompile the project.

which fonts to copy? and why should I do it? android/app/src/main/assets/fonts already has those fonts, deleting the build folder doesn't help
you just need to read the documentation here it is Copy the contents in the Fonts folder to android/app/src/main/assets/fonts (note lowercase fonts folder). available here github.com/oblador/react-native-vector-icons#option-manually
I have those fonts already there, the issue is not about missing fonts but about duplicating issue: android\app\build\intermediates\ReactNativeVectorIcons\fonts\AntDesign.ttf: Resource and asset merger: Duplicate resources

yes you need to remove them if you added them manually as well
