I'm new to blender, I have an object with a huge number of polygons, I need to apply a sculpting mask to the object, but so that it doesn't fall on its inner side, how can this be done? the photo shows the object itself and the places where the mask should not fall

In Sculpt mode, there's an option under the Brush pulldown menu called "Front Faces Only":
If you turn this on, the sculpt tool will only affect faces with normals turned toward the view, and this works whether you're using a standard sculpting brush or a mask brush. Here's an example of mask painting a half-torus with this option turned on. You can see I was able to paint a mask all the way up to the edges without affecting anything on the interior of the mesh:
