I have a model that has been divided by the person who modelled it into grouped sections, such as 'Hallway', and that 'Hallway' has pipes, flooring, walls, and buttons etc. all modelled and UV'd into it.
I want to apply procedurally generated textures to each part; the pipes in a coloured painted metal, the walls the same but in a different colour and wear type, the floor in checker-plate and painted metal. After that I want to make these composite shadings into texture images for use in another program (Daz Studio): I have learnt about Baking so that's the final part (or struggle).
I've heard about masking. I'm trying to find a tute on Masking, but the specific information I want for this is scattered because I would also like to be more precise, using Faces or Lines as the Surface or Border of the image. And after the mask is done, to gently soften some of those image borders so there's not a harsh line in the final image, such as where the Flooring meets the Wall.
So the question is how would I do this? Does anyone know of a Youtube tutorial that covers these procedures?
