The cube just disappears with no hole whenever I hide it after applying booleans. I've merged by distance, applied the scale and nothing seems to work.

I've also flipped and recalculated the normals. Am I applying it to the wrong object?

$\begingroup$ @Rathalos you attached the wrong blend file, which has already applied the boolean. You have to share the original file with before you applied the boolean. $\endgroup$ Commented yesterday

$\begingroup$ Are you trying to subtract the cube shape from the circular shape? because if that's your goal, you are doing it wrong, you are putting the Boolean on the cube (second image), when you should put the boolean on the circle. Which of these ones is the one you want ? imgur.com/a/aJz3Wys $\endgroup$ Commented yesterday
  • $\begingroup$ @Emir I wanted to subtract the cube yes. I got the order confused, thank you for letting me know. $\endgroup$ Commented yesterday

For a boolean to work it needs to be applied to the object that needs the action.

Example 1

i need the sphere to get a boolean on the shape of a cube. In this case, the sphere needs the boolean enter image description here

Example 2

I need this cube to get a boolean on the shape of a sphere. In this case, the Cube needs the boolean. enter image description here

You can see the boolean operation by switching the visibility of the subtracted object from solid to wire on the object options > viewport display. as seen here
